Entry for Emily's Writing and Photography Contest

Whispers are everywhere, of things we've lost, things we've gained and things we will never have.
Everywhere this whisper calls, begging us to listen and feel abandoned.
It tries to pulls us under, make us long and dream of more, but it's going to fail!

Our god stands by, waiting for such moments, ready and guarding us, not letting us loose faith.
He gives us new, happier things, things that make up for what we've lost.
With him we need nothing, these whispers are just a joke, something to laugh over.

Party! Party! PARTY!!!

The Ups and Downs of My Not-So-Average Life

Morning is holding a blog party at the moment! I'm so glad to be able to join in.

Rules:

+ Post about the blog party on your blog with the button image above included.
+ Answer these ten questions:
1. What do you love about the fall season?
I love how everything gets colder, snuggling up, the smell of everything, can I just say, everything?

2. If you walked in a mall and saw a guacamole chip hat, would you wear one or eat it?
OK, I must say I would probably do both. Eat it while wearing it:) (Gru, much?)

3. What is one of the most frustrating or aggravating things in the blogging world?
When people comment on your blog just to ask to follow them and comment on their blog and don't say anything, they don't even comment again. I don't mind people leaving their links, but when they say nothing else, urgh! This is worse when the people don't even write on their blogs.

4. Would you rather build a snowman or sing in the rain? (See what I did there?)
Hahaha, build a snowman. It doesn't snow in Australia and where I live it always seems to be raining. I have sung in the rain so many times:)

5. If you had to chose how you were a part of a theater or movie production, would you be: an actor, props designer, set designer, light/technical director, audio coordinator, costume director, music director, dance coordinator, stage manager, or a part of the audience?
Costume director!

6. List your blogging inspirations (blogs and people).
Mum
Morning
Eve
Imogen
Bethan
Yasmine

7. Do you think you could commit yourself to a Halloween costume made of lint, or a Halloween costume made of bubble wrap?
I reckon I could, I'm really stubborn. I would love one made of bubble wrap in fact. I love bubble wrap!

8. Do you tend to photo bomb people's photos, or divert from them?
Neither. I'm not really a photogenic person.

9. What is one word you constantly have to keep looking up the definition to?
Funnily, it's divert. I just had to relook it up, stupid me!

10. If you wrote an autobiography about yourself, what would you call it (if you couldn't place your name in the title) and why?
The Story of the Girl Who Wanted to Write (hope that's good enough. I was on the spot!)

Why don't you pop on over to Morning's blog and join in the fun!

I hope you enjoyed that. No one feel pressured to do this.

Also, please watch this video. It really shows what real love is to me!

My Channel

A while ago I talked about starting a YouTube channel, and (FINALLY) I have done so.

It's really basic at the moment with not much around. I have uploaded my first video however and I'm very pleased with that.

I'm not very brave at the moment though. I won't be doing any talking ones or ones with me in them because I feel very awkward, but I hope that the video I have made it clear enough!!!

20 Things You Might Not Know About Me Blog Tag

Today I'm feeling a bit lazy, so I'm going to post a tag that Lizzie from Castle in the Air tagged me for.

The Rules:

1. Copy and paste the questions below and then answer and turn them into a blog post. Or, record a video answering these questions and upload it to your blog post.

2. At the bottom of your post, tag anywhere from 2-10 bloggers you want to see answer these questions. (I also suggest hitting up your tagged people via social media just to let them know you tagged them to do this tag challenge.)

3. Use the title: 20 Things You Might Not Know About Me Blog Tag. Once you’ve hit publish, leave a comment below with the link to your post.

4. Use the hashtag #20ThingsBlogTag when sharing on social media so we can all find your awesome posts!
Now for the questions:

Question 1: How tall are you?
Well this is rather embarrassing, but I have no idea! I'm not tall though.
Question 2: Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
Um, maybe music. I also like photography!
Question 3: What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
Please don't take offence, but blogs have custom cursors.
Question 4: What’s your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?
When someone constantly talks over you.
Question 5: What’s your favourite song?
At the moment:

Will probably change when I find another one with such a good message.

Made Upon a Time by Charlie (a fellow blogger)
Question 7: What’s your favourite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?
Writing, mainly flash fiction!

None at the moment. I have had quite a few before though.

I don't have one. I don't wear any makeup at all.
Question 12: When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
I went to some friend's house and we took some ridiculous photos of ourselves, then my friend showed them to some other people.
Question 13: If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I never went to school, but if I did I would be either nerd of loner, most likely both, I'm a bit shy.
Question 16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
In the bush. I lived there for about a year and it was lovely. Not outback Australia, just a small village somewhere. Somewhere quiet at any rate! Also somewhere where I don't have to see many people.

I Want to Know the Real You

via
Be yourself, that's who I wanted to know.
If I wanted to talk to that popular girl,
Then I wouldn't be standing here with you.

Why hide who you really are?
The person inside is who we love!
We want the real you, the inside you.

What's the point of dressing up?
Why not just wear your own style?
Why is that trend the best?

Be yourself, be free and happy.
Be the trend setter and make difference.
Be the one who lives life fully!

Today I watched Colbie Caillat's song-Try. You have to watch it. Even if you're not a fan of that stuff, please give it a go. It has a great message, one that not many people get. This message needs to be shared.

Tech

via

When did we start relying on tech so much?
I remember a time when I didn't have any!
But all that's changed now, so changed.
No one spends a day without tech if possible.

What happened? I can't remember!
Why did I never notice what was happening?
Is this such a bad, terrible thing?
Should we make a bigger effort get off the tech?

The human race has gotten spoiled.
We can't live without this stuff.
But it's not all bad, but take a break.
You can forget the real world!

I have been thinking about this for a while. It seems like something that has up and downs! Really needed to share it:)

Writing

via

Music plays through my headphones.
I'm not listening to it, I'm busy.
The key's of my keyboard are tapping.
My mind is racing ahead of my fingers.
The story grows, it has a mind of it's own.
My music has stopped, I don't notice.
I'm nearly there, I have almost finished.
My typing slows down, I look up.
I'm back in the real world.
I have finished my writing!

This is my fiftieth post which to me is amazing! I can't believe I have reached it. I haven't even been blogging that long. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me reach this HUGE number of posts.

Deep Down

via
I stare into space.
Why am I like this?
I never used to be.
Why can't I think?
I used to concentrate.
Why don't I now?
I always was happy.
Why can't I feel anything?
Inside I know, deep down.
It's because I met you.

Wounded

via
I am badly wounded,
There's a hole in my heart,
Everyday I soldier on,
Not knowing the future,
I don't know how to live,
How to laugh and be happy,
My head pounds hard,
I can't think anymore,
Nothing makes sense anymore,
When will it all end?

The Tribute To Writers Award

I know I said I wasn't doing anymore awards and tags, but this award was just too good to pass up! I feel really honoured at having been nominated for this.

Thanks so much Jollygirl for nominating me for the Tribute To Writers award. I'm so excited to get started!

via if image doesn't show up, don't blame me. My computer is having problems

Rules:
1. Answer All Questions
2. Put the picture in your post (has to be linked back to Jollygirl)
3. Tell what you love about writing (if you like writing. if you don't, then you don't have to do this award)
4. Share one piece of writing.
4. Nominate 3 other writers/ bloggers. (no tag backs) and make up 5 new questions for them to answer.
5. Have fun!

Questions:

1. What is your favorite type of writing?
Novels and the sort of paragraphy things I do. I'm not sure what they are. If someone can tell me what type of writing I write, I would be ever so obliged. It's just I don't know if it's poetry or ...I don't know!

2. When did you start writing?
When I was about six. My mum used to get me to write short stories to help me learn to spell. Ever since I have been hooked! Mum never thought I would take to it so.

3. Your favorite author?
It changes a lot, but at the moment it's Eoin Colfer, author of Artemis Fowl and Airman

4. Have you ever finished a novel?
Not properly. I got one through two edits though.

5. On a scale of one to ten what would you rate writing?
10.5 because it's better than anything else to me.

Why I like writing:
I like writing because it's the only way I can really express myself and make a difference. I'm to shy in real life and wouldn't have the courage to stand up and say 'Hey I have something to tell you'.

A piece of my writing:
The baby settled in her father's arms
Peaceful, knowing she was safe.

The toddler giggled on her father's knee
Laughing at what he said.

The little girl followed her father
Trying to make him play.

The teen watched her father
Hoping to be more like him.

The adult went to her father
Glad to have his help.

The mother chatted to her father
Remembering when she was little.

The older lady cried for her father
Sad that he was gone.

The old lady remembered her father
She would never forget.

In Memory of the Best Friend Ever

via

She was my companion from the day I got her.
Always there to beg love and make me smile.
I could depend on her to play with me.
She never tired of our games.
There never was a better friend.
I miss you, Kake!

When I was tiny, we had a dog named Kake. She was my best friend. I was so sad when she died. Today is her birthday, I had to write something for her.

I'm Unique

I have been really bad recently, comments have gone without replies, emails haven't been read and all in all I have been hopeless. I'm really, really sorry. I have had a terrible tummy bug and I wasn't up to going on my computer. I am feeling a bit better today, so I caught up with everything and I'm writing another post.

via

I'm not outrageous.
I would rather live quietly.
But that doesn't mean I'm boring.
I have fun and interests.
I do have passions and hates.
While I might not be like everyone,
I'm still unique, I'm still me.

Sorry this isn't very good, but I don't have anything better for today. Please bear with me.

The Ups and Down of My Not-So-Average Life

Here finally is my post about Morning's blog. So sorry it took so long! It's a really amazing blog, but I have been so busy I haven't had time to write about it before.

visit

The first thing you notice when you visit Morning's blog is her amazing blog design! I really love it. Morning sure knows what she's doing with the codes. (She also designed my blog). Isn't it lovely?

Morning's blog was one of the blogs that made me want to start blogging. Her posts always inspired me and made me want to go start my own blog, which in the end I did.

Morning writes all kinds of posts, from stories from her life to bits of writing she has done. All of them are amazing and have her mark of awesomness on them.

Morning's been a great friend to me, so be sure to go check out her blog. It really is amazing:)

My Questions (they're summer related):

1) Would you rather go somewhere or stay home?
2) What is your favourite summer activity?
3) Do you go on a holiday every summer?
4) What site have you been on the most this summer?
5) Shorts or skirts?
6) Ice creams or hot dogs?
7) What's your favourite summer dessert?
8) Do you read more or less in summer?
9) What's your favourite things about summer?
10) What words would you use to describe summer?

Sorry these questions are so totally lame, but I'm in a hurry and I don't know anything better at the moment, it being winter.

The Outcast

via

Everyone sneered at her
They laughed at her studying so hard
No one could understand her obsession
She had no friends to go to

Now she's famous
Her studying paid off
She has a good job
She's doing what she really enjoys

Everyone else is pore
Working in some small café
No money coming in
The roles have been reversed

Latest Obsessions

I always find myself with a million obsessions and they're changing. New ones come and old ones vanish. Because of this I thought I would make a list each month of all the things I have been obsessed with:)

Without farther ado, here we go!

  • Taylor Swift's new music video, Shake it Off!
  • 5SOS, I recently heard about them from some bloggers and now I can't stop listening to their music.
  • Tim Tams. Being sugar-free I don't normally eat things like this, but recently we started buying these anyway. They're awesome!
  • Doctor Who. Ok, this isn't a new obsession. I have had it for like forever, but I just have to talk about Doctor Who as it's on again very soon!
  • Pinterest, I recently joined and I have been pinning so much. I have like a million boards and thousands of pins. Well not quite, but I really am crazy about Pinterest. If you're not on there, join:)
  • DIY. I have done any yet, but I have heaps of ideas, especially t shirt ideas that I will use in Spring.
Well those are my latest obsessions. Feel free to do this and leave a link to it in the comments:)

Top Ten Book Characters That Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table

Today I'm linking up again with The Broke and the Bookish top ten link up again! This time it's top ten book character this would be sitting at my lunch table, because in America everyone is going back to school.

1.
This place goes to Leo Valdez from the Heroes of Olympus series. He is so much fun and it would be fun to share a table with him!

2.
Connor Broekhart from Airman. Everyone needs someone to protect everyone from bullying and who better to do this than one of the best fighters ever. And besides if we ever needed to go anywhere he could just build us a aeroplane.

3.
Artemis Fowl. I can imagine that having a genius would very useful and of course he would bring along Butler which would be awesome.

4.
Percy Jackson. I love demi gods and his powers are so awesome. I would love to have him share my table.

5.
Captain Holly Short from Artemis Fowl. One, she's a fairy, two she's got some really cool weapons, three she has a great sense of humour.

6.
Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit. I mean, who doesn't want to have someone with a magic ring at they're table? Ok, I know he is a bit old for school, but still.

7.
Kat from the Heist Society series. She's awesome, she's a thief, she has a rich boyfriend, what more can you ask for?

8.
Septimus Heap. He's got magic, he has a dragon, his sister is the princess. He is definitely a good choice.

9.
Wally from The Billabong series. Who doesn't need a funny boy who is a great horse rider, cricket player and so many other things.

10.
My last place goes to Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Ok, ok, just kidding!!! As awesome as Gollum is, I think that it would be far too dangerous to have him at my table.

My real tenth spot goes to...Imza from, why my own story! I know, but I really would like to meet her. She's an inventor's daughter, musician and so many other cool things.

Hope you enjoyed this. As most of you know, I'm homeschooled, but I still wanted to do this link up because it's fun to think about who I would want at my table if I was at school.
