I Don't Need My Computer!

Yesterday I undertook a dare that Emily challenged people to do. Go twelve hours without any tech.

I have been thinking about how much time I spend on my computer for a while and I really wanted to do this. So I decided before school starts again, I would take the challenge (I use my computer for work).

Amazingly, after the first bit, it was easy to get on without my computer. I actually completed a lot of things that had been needed doing.

I reckon that those twelve hours did me a lot of good. I don't feel I like I need my computer so much and I have heaps of ideas for things to do off the computer.

So I challenge to partake in this challenge as well. It doesn't have to be tomorrow or the next day, just whenever you have the time.

  1. It's not until you take time away from the computer that you realise just how much time you actually on it, is it? I'm terrible with my use of technology. Often I have my laptop open, and my tablet turned on next to me, and I'm looking at both at once. I have a bit of an excuse because I'm a full time, online uni student, and I have a lot of work to do, but I'm starting to think that in the evenings, and in between times, I should switch off a bit and take some time away to spend with real people and doing other things that really do need to be done. As I said on Facebook, I don't think I can manage twelve hours what with my study schedule, but I am resolved to spend less time on the computer where possible.

    1. I find that I spend far too much time locked away in my bedroom. You do have a good excuse to be on the computer though.

  2. Go Kat! That's great! I'm always spending time on either my phone or my computer... Can I also do this challenge?

    1. I'm sure you can. It's not as bad as you think after the first bit. I ended up spending the whole day without technology.

  3. I actually went camping for a couple days this summer...and I realized how much you can rely on technology! I think I was without internet and stuff for at least 30 hours...I'm not really sure. Then, I dropped my phone in the sink, so I went three weeks with using only a computer! It's so sad how addicted people can get! I am glad that my parents have put restrictions on me so that I do not become addicted.
I love that you're doing this challenge...it can be really hard to choose to do it!

    1. Oh my! That must have been pretty hard. I suppose the camping trip would have been ok, but then having three weeks without your phone? I don't own a phone, but I understand what it must feel like.
My parents never put restrictions on her. Mainly because most of my school work is online and they trust me to choose how I spend my mind.
